The scores and ranking of candidates approved for the Court Management and Administrative Body of Justice in three autonomous communities have been officially corrected on 20 August 2026. The Order PJC/873/2026 rectifies material errors detected in annex I of Order PJC/795/2026, which in turn amended the list of approved candidates published in Order PJC/92/2025.

For affected candidates, this is not a minor bureaucratic procedure: a change in score or ranking can determine the assigned destination, priority in choosing a position and even the possibility of accessing a specific post. Reviewing the updated list is urgent.

What does this regulation establish?

Order PJC/873/2026 is a correction of material errors. This means it does not introduce changes in criteria or new rules: it simply amends incorrect data that was published in Order PJC/795/2026 of 22 July 2026.

The corrected errors affect annex I of that order and are concentrated in three territorial areas:

  • Catalonia
  • Basque Country
  • Valencian Community

The corrected data are the scores and ranking of approved candidates by free competition through the competitive examination system, originally called by the Order JUS/1327/2022, of 28 December.

The complete regulatory chain is as follows:

OrderDateContent
Order JUS/1327/202228 December 2022Original call for the extraordinary selection process
Order PJC/92/202524 January 2025Publication of the list of approved candidates
Order PJC/795/202622 July 2026Amendment of the list of approved candidates (with errors in annex I)
Order PJC/873/202610 August 2026Correction of material errors in annex I of the previous order

Economic and operational impact

For affected candidates, the impact is not economic in the strict sense, but it does have direct and highly relevant consequences:

  • Change in ranking: A score correction can alter a candidate's relative position compared to others, which determines priority in choosing a destination.
  • Access to specific positions: In selection processes with limited positions by territory, a change in ranking can mean the difference between accessing a position in Catalonia, Basque Country or Valencian Community or being left out of available positions.
  • Appeal deadlines activated: From 20 August 2026, legal deadlines run for challenging the list if a candidate believes the correction is incorrect or that their score is still wrong.

For human resources managers of judicial bodies or advisors accompanying candidates, this correction implies reviewing updated lists before any position allocation procedure.

Who does it affect?

  • Candidates approved in the extraordinary selection process for the Court Management and Administrative Body of the Administration of Justice by free competition.
  • Applicants with destination in the territorial areas of Catalonia, Basque Country and Valencian Community.
  • Advisors, management firms and law offices accompanying candidates in reviewing results and filing appeals.
  • Human resources managers of judicial bodies who must manage the incorporation of new civil servants from this list.

Practical example

Imagine an approved candidate with destination in Catalonia who, following the publication of Order PJC/795/2026 of 22 July, held position 45 on the territorial list. Order PJC/873/2026 corrects their score upward, moving them to position 38. This change can be decisive if the available positions in Catalonia are, for example, 40: in the previous list they were excluded; in the corrected list, they are included.

The inverse scenario is also possible: a correction that reduces a candidate's score can move them to a lower position and exclude them from available positions in their territorial area. In that case, the affected party has until 20 September 2026 to file an optional motion for reconsideration, or until 20 October 2026 to resort to the administrative contentious route.

What should affected parties do now?

  1. Check the updated annex I of Order PJC/873/2026 in the BOE of 20 August 2026 and compare your score and position with those published in Order PJC/795/2026 of 22 July.
  2. Verify if your position in the ranking has changed and if that change includes or excludes you from available positions in your territorial area (Catalonia, Basque Country or Valencian Community).
  3. If you believe the correction is incorrect or an error persists, file an optional motion for reconsideration before 20 September 2026 (1 month from publication).
  4. If you prefer the judicial route, the deadline for an administrative contentious appeal is 2 months from 20 August 2026, that is, until 20 October 2026.
  5. Consult with an advisor specialized in administrative law if you have doubts about whether your case justifies filing an appeal, especially if the change in position leaves you out of available positions.

Frequently asked questions

What errors does Order PJC/873/2026 exactly correct?

The order corrects material errors detected in annex I of Order PJC/795/2026, of 22 July. These errors affect the scores and ranking of candidates approved by free competition in the territorial areas of Catalonia, Basque Country and Valencian Community. The regulation does not publicly specify the concrete names affected, but the changes are visible by comparing annex I of both orders in the BOE.

Where can I check the corrected list of approved candidates?

The corrected list is found in the BOE of 20 August 2026 (reference BOE-A-2026-17955), in annex I of Order PJC/873/2026. You must compare that version with annex I of Order PJC/795/2026, published on 22 July 2026, to identify changes in your position.

What is the deadline to appeal if I disagree with the correction?

You have two options: file an optional motion for reconsideration within 1 month from 20 August 2026 (until 20 September 2026), or go directly to the administrative contentious route within 2 months from that same date (until 20 October 2026).

Does this correction affect candidates from all autonomous communities?

No. Order PJC/873/2026 only affects the territorial areas of Catalonia, Basque Country and Valencian Community. Candidates with destination in other autonomous communities are not affected by this specific correction.
