If you passed the extraordinary opposition to the Judicial Assistance Corps of the Administration of Justice, this resolution affects you directly: the Principality of Asturias has just published the 16 vacant positions offered for your choice of destination. The regulatory reference is the Resolution of May 21, 2026 from the Ministry of Finance, Justice and European Affairs, published in the Official Gazette on June 5, 2026.

The deadline to act is short and the procedure has strict rules: whoever does not request a position within the deadline and in proper form loses the ability to choose their destination.

What does this regulation establish?

The Ministry of Finance, Justice and European Affairs of the Principality of Asturias publishes, in development of the extraordinary selection process convened by the Order JUS/1327/2022, of December 28, the list of vacant positions in the Judicial Assistance Corps offered to those approved with destination in the Asturian territorial scope.

The available positions are distributed in the following localities:

Locality
Oviedo
Gijón
Langreo
Cangas de Onís
Nava
San Martín del Rey Aurelio
Teverga

The rules of the assignment procedure are as follows:

  • Each candidate must request, at minimum, as many positions as their opposition number.
  • Assignment is made by order of score obtained in the selection process.
  • Assignment is definitive: you cannot participate in transfer competitions for the two years following taking office.
  • Whoever does not request a position within the deadline, or does not obtain any of the requested positions, will be forcibly assigned by alphabetical order of localities.

Economic and operational impact

For those approved, the impact is not economic in the strict sense, but rather on career and geographic mobility. The decision of which positions to request and in what order has direct consequences for at least two years:

  • Transfer freeze: Once your position is assigned, you cannot participate in transfer competitions for two years. Choosing the wrong destination means staying in that position with no option to change during that period.
  • Forced assignment: If you do not submit a request within 10 business days, the system assigns you a destination by alphabetical order of localities, without considering your preferences. This could mean being assigned to a small locality like Teverga or Nava instead of Oviedo or Gijón.
  • Minimum number of positions to request: You must request at least as many positions as your opposition number. If your number is, for example, 8, you must include a minimum of 8 positions in your request. Failing to meet this requirement may invalidate your petition.

Who does it affect?

  • Persons approved in the extraordinary selection process for the Judicial Assistance Corps of the Administration of Justice, convened by Order JUS/1327/2022, of December 28.
  • Specifically, those candidates whose destination corresponds to the territorial scope of the Principality of Asturias.
  • Advisors and human resources managers of the Administration of Justice in Asturias who manage the incorporation of these civil servants.

Practical example

Imagine you are approved with opposition number 5 in the extraordinary selection process JUS/1327/2022, with destination in Asturias. This means that when submitting your destination request, you must include a minimum of 5 positions ordered by preference.

If your first choice is Oviedo and your second is Gijón, but both are assigned to candidates with better scores, the system will continue assigning you according to the remaining positions you have included in your request (Langreo, Cangas de Onís, Nava, etc.). If none of your requested positions are available, you will be forcibly assigned by alphabetical order of localities: Cangas de Onís, Gijón, Langreo, Nava, Oviedo, San Martín del Rey Aurelio, Teverga.

If you do not submit a request within 10 business days from June 5, 2026, forced assignment is applied directly, with no possibility of appeal regarding the assigned locality.

What should candidates do now?

  1. Confirm that you are included in the JUS/1327/2022 process with destination in Asturias. Only those approved in this extraordinary selection process and with Asturian territorial scope should act.
  2. Identify your opposition number. This number determines the minimum number of positions you must include in your request. Failing to submit the required minimum may invalidate your petition.
  3. Review the 7 available localities (Oviedo, Gijón, Langreo, Cangas de Onís, Nava, San Martín del Rey Aurelio and Teverga) and decide your order of preference keeping in mind that assignment is definitive for two years.
  4. Submit your destination request within 10 business days counted from June 5, 2026. Do not wait until the last moment: a procedural error could cost you the choice of destination.
  5. Understand that assignment is definitive: once your position is assigned, you cannot participate in transfer competitions for two years. Carefully consider the locality before ordering your preferences.
