Judicial Assistance Positions 2022: Madrid Destinations and 5-Day Application Deadline

The Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes has published the vacant positions available in Madrid for those who passed the opposition exam for the Judicial Assistance Corps of the Administration of Justice called in December 2022. Failing to act is equivalent to losing control over your assignment. The system assigns a position automatically by alphabetical order of localities, and that assignment is permanent.

What does this regulation establish?

Order PJC/986/2026 publishes the positions that remained vacant in the free-entry selection process for the Judicial Assistance Corps of the Administration of Justice, called by Order JUS/1327/2022. These positions are located exclusively in Madrid and are distributed among four organizations:

The procedure established by the order is as follows:

• Candidates included in Annex III of the order are the only ones who can participate in this phase.
• They must send their position request electronically signed to the email concursos.admonjusticia@mjusticia.es.
• The deadline is five business days counted from publication in the BOE (September 24, 2026).
• If the candidate does not submit a request, or if they submit a request but do not obtain any of the requested positions, they will be assigned a mandatory position by alphabetical order of localities.
• The assigned position has permanent status.
• Officials who receive an assignment may not compete for transfers for two years from the award resolution.

For the approved candidate, the impact of this order is not economic in the strict sense, but rather professional and vital: the position obtained will determine the workplace for at least the next two years, with all the implications of relocation, housing, and work-life balance that entails.

The critical points from an operational perspective are:

• Loss of choice capacity: Failing to request within the deadline means receiving the position that the system automatically assigns, with no possibility of appeal regarding geographic preference.
• Mobility freeze for 2 years: Once the position is assigned, the official is bound to that post for two years before being able to participate in transfer competitions.
• Mandatory electronic signature: The request must be sent with a valid electronic signature. Not having an operational digital certificate may prevent submitting the request within the deadline.
• Non-extendable deadline: Five business days is a very tight margin. Any technical issue with the digital certificate or email could compromise submission.

Who does it affect?

• Candidates who passed the selection process for free-entry to the Judicial Assistance Corps of the Administration of Justice called by Order JUS/1327/2022, of December 28.
• Specifically, those listed in Annex III of Order PJC/986/2026, published in the BOE on September 23, 2026.
• The territorial scope of the offered positions is exclusively the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes, with assignments in Madrid.

If you are not in Annex III, this order does not directly affect you. If you are on that list, action is urgent and immediate.

Practical example

Imagine you are one of the candidates included in Annex III. The order is published in the BOE on September 23, 2026, so the five-day business deadline begins on September 24.

Scenario A — You act within the deadline: You prepare your position request indicating in order of preference, for example, a position at the National Court and another at the Supreme Court. You send it electronically signed to concursos.admonjusticia@mjusticia.es before the fifth business day expires. If you obtain one of your preferences, that position is assigned with permanent status. You will be able to compete for another position after two years from the resolution.

Scenario B — You do not act or do not obtain any of your requested positions: The administration assigns you a position automatically following the alphabetical order of localities among the positions that remain unfilled. You could end up in any of the four available organizations without having expressed any preference. The position remains permanent and the two-year block applies equally.

The difference between both scenarios is simply sending an email with digital signature before the deadline expires.

What should candidates do now?

1. Check if you are listed in Annex III of Order PJC/986/2026. Access the complete text in the BOE and locate your name in that annex. If you do not appear, this order does not require you to act.
2. Verify that your electronic signature certificate is operational. The request must be sent electronically signed. Check the validity of your digital certificate before the deadline expires.
3. Prepare your position request indicating in order of preference the available positions: Supreme Court, State Attorney General's Office, National Court, and National Institute of Toxicology (all in Madrid).
4. Send the electronically signed request to the email concursos.admonjusticia@mjusticia.es within five business days from September 24, 2026. Keep proof of submission.
5. Keep in mind the mobility freeze: Once your position is assigned, you will not be able to participate in transfer competitions for the two years following the award resolution. Plan accordingly.
