Candidates who passed the selective process for internal promotion to the Procedural and Administrative Management Body of the Administration of Justice in the Canary Islands, called by the Order PJC/104/2024, of January 31, now face a decision with long-term consequences: choosing their definitive destination among the vacant positions published by the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands. The deadline is short, the procedure is electronic and the consequences of not acting are immediate.
What does this regulation establish?
The Resolution of June 12, 2026 publishes the list of vacant positions in the territorial scope of the Canary Islands for applicants who have passed the selective process of internal promotion by competitive examination to the Procedural and Administrative Management Body of the Administration of Justice.
The positions are distributed among the following municipalities in the Canary Islands:
- Arona
- Arrecife
- Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
- Granadilla de Abona
- La Orotava
- Other municipalities in the territorial scope of the Canary Islands
The rules of the destination selection process are as follows:
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Request deadline | 10 business days from publication in the BOE (from July 8, 2026) |
| Form of submission | Electronic (no in-person or paper submission is accepted) |
| Minimum positions to request | Equal to the candidate number of each applicant |
| Consequence of not meeting the minimum | Forced assignment of destination in alphabetical order of municipalities |
| Character of assigned destination | Definitive, equivalent to that obtained by competition |
| Subsequent restriction | Cannot participate in transfer competitions for the 2 years following assignment |
Economic and operational impact
Although this resolution does not imply direct economic costs for private companies, it has a very relevant operational and personal impact for those affected:
- Definitive destination: The assigned destination has the same rank as one obtained in an ordinary transfer competition. It is not provisional or reviewable in the short term.
- Mobility block for 2 years: The civil servant will not be able to compete for another destination for two years from the assignment, which significantly limits their capacity for geographic or functional relocation.
- Risk of forced assignment: Not submitting the request on time, or doing so with fewer positions than required (minimum equal to your candidate number), triggers automatic assignment in alphabetical order of municipalities. This may result in ending up in an undesired destination without possibility of immediate appeal.
- Impact on personal and family planning: Given that destinations span municipalities on different islands (Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Lanzarote), the choice may involve change of residence, with associated costs for housing, travel and work-life balance.
Who does it affect?
- Civil servants of the Procedural and Administrative Processing Body of the Administration of Justice who applied to the selective process of internal promotion called by Order PJC/104/2024 and have passed all phases of the process.
- Applicants with destination in the territorial scope of the Canary Islands who appear in the list of approved candidates published by the Ministry of Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Courts.
- Human resources managers of the Canary Islands judicial bodies who must plan the incorporation of new personnel to the Procedural Management Body.
Practical example
Imagine you are a civil servant of the Procedural Processing Body in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and you have passed the internal promotion process to the Procedural Management Body with candidate number 15. The resolution establishes that you must request a minimum of 15 positions in your electronic form.
If you submit the request indicating only 5 positions (for example, only those in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), you do not meet the required minimum. In that case, the administration will assign you a position ex officio in alphabetical order of municipalities, which could mean ending up assigned to Arona or Arrecife, even though your preference was to stay in Las Palmas.
If, instead, you correctly submit the request with at least 15 positions ordered by preference, you are guaranteed that your order of choice will be respected to the extent that positions are available. Once the destination is assigned, you will not be able to participate in any transfer competition for two years from the date of assignment.
What should candidates do now?
- Verify if you are on the approved list of the selective process called by Order PJC/104/2024. Only applicants who have passed all phases can participate in this destination selection phase.
- Consult the list of positions published in the BOE of July 8, 2026 to know exactly what destinations are available in the Canary Islands (Arona, Arrecife, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Granadilla de Abona, La Orotava and other municipalities).
- Identify your candidate number: that number determines the minimum number of positions you must include in your request. If your number is 20, you must request at least 20 positions.
- Prepare and submit your request electronically within 10 business days from July 8, 2026. No other submission channel is accepted.
- Order your preferences with criteria: keep in mind that the assigned destination will be definitive and that you will not be able to participate in transfer competitions for the following two years. Consider factors such as the island, the municipality, the distance to your current residence and housing availability.
- Keep the electronic submission receipt: it is your only backup in case of incident or subsequent claim.
Frequently asked questions
How many days do I have to request a destination in the Procedural Management process in the Canary Islands?
You have 10 business days counted from the publication of the resolution in the BOE, which took place on July 8, 2026. The request must be submitted exclusively electronically.
What happens if I do not submit the destination request or request fewer positions than required?
If you do not submit the request on time or request fewer positions than those corresponding to your candidate number, the administration will assign you a destination forcibly, following the alphabetical order of municipalities. You will have no choice and the assigned destination will be equally definitive.
How many positions must I request as a minimum in the form?
You must request a minimum number of positions equal to your candidate number. For example, if you are candidate number 12, you must include at least 12 positions in your request ordered by preference.
Can I request a transfer after my destination is assigned?
Not immediately. The assigned destination is definitive and equivalent to one obtained by competition. For the two years following the assignment, you will not be able to participate in transfer competitions.
In which municipalities in the Canary Islands are positions available?
The resolution mentions positions in the following municipalities: Arona, Arrecife, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Granadilla de Abona and La Orotava, in addition to other municipalities in the territorial scope of the Canary Islands. The complete and detailed list appears in the full text published in the BOE.
