For those approved, the impact is immediate and has two key dimensions:
- Permanent destination: the assigned destination is equivalent to one obtained by competition. This means it is not a provisional destination: it has full stability and the same legal effects as if it had been obtained through the ordinary transfer competition procedure.
- Two-year mobility restriction: once the destination is assigned, the official cannot participate in transfer competitions for two years. This limitation directly affects those with specific geographic or family preferences, so the choice of position should be made carefully.
- Risk of mandatory assignment: failing to request a position within the deadline—or not obtaining any of the requested ones—means that the counselor will assign a mandatory destination in any unassigned vacant position, without the possibility of choosing location or judicial body.
Who does it affect?
- Officials who have passed the internal promotion selective process to the Procedural and Administrative Management Body of the Administration of Justice called by Order PJC/104/2024.
- Candidates whose selective process corresponds to the territorial scope of Catalonia.
- Officials who do not yet have a destination assigned in the positions of this call ("vacant" positions in the previous phase).

Practical example
An official approved in the internal promotion OPE (Order PJC/104/2024) currently assigned to a court in Barcelona wants to apply for a position in Girona for personal reasons. When this resolution is published on July 3, 2026, they have 10 business days to access the corresponding electronic office and request, in order of preference, the available positions in Girona.
If their score in the selective process is sufficiently high, they will be assigned one of the requested positions. The destination will be permanent from that moment and they cannot compete for another destination for the next two years.
