Approved candidates in the internal promotion call to the Court Proceedings and Administrative Processing Body of the Administration of Justice in Canary Islands must act immediately. The General Directorate of Relations with the Administration of Justice of Canary Islands has published, through a resolution of June 12, 2026, the list of vacant positions available within the scope of the Autonomous Community of Canary Islands. The process was called by the Order PJC/150/2024, of February 19.

The resolution opens a very tight request period: 10 business days counted from publication in the BOE (July 9, 2026). Anyone who does not submit their request on time or does not cover the minimum required positions is exposed to forced allocation that they cannot reject.

What does this regulation establish?

The resolution publishes the positions that remained vacant after the selection process for access by internal promotion to the Court Proceedings and Administrative Processing Body of the Administration of Justice, called by Order PJC/150/2024. These positions are now offered to those who passed said process within the scope of Canary Islands.

The key rules of the procedure are as follows:

  • Request deadline: 10 business days from publication in the BOE (from July 9, 2026 onwards).
  • Submission channels: electronic headquarters or in-person registration in Las Palmas or Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
  • Minimum positions to request: each candidate must request at least as many positions as their candidate number. Failure to meet this minimum activates forced allocation.
  • Forced allocation: if the candidate does not request the required minimum, they are allocated a position in alphabetical order among those available, with no possibility of rejection.
  • Nature of the position: definitive, with the same effects as a position obtained by transfer contest.
  • Mobility restriction: the civil servant cannot participate in transfer contests for the two years following allocation.
  • Available remedies: request for reconsideration within one month, or administrative-contentious appeal within two months, both counted from publication.

Economic and operational impact

For affected candidates, the impact is not economic in the strict sense, but deeply operational and vital: the position obtained in this process will determine the workplace for at least two years, with no possibility of requesting transfer during that period.

The points of greatest operational risk are:

  • Forced allocation: not requesting the minimum number of positions equivalent to the candidate number means losing all ability to choose. The position is assigned in alphabetical order among the remaining positions, which presumably will be the least desired.
  • Mobility block for two years: the allocated position has a definitive nature and is comparable to a transfer contest, which prevents participation in new contests for 24 months. This can have a significant impact on family reconciliation or the civil servant's geographic preferences.
  • Very short deadline: 10 business days is a tight margin. Any delay in electronic processing or in-person submission can leave the candidate out of the selection process.

Who does it affect?

  • Candidates who passed the selection process for internal promotion to the Court Proceedings and Administrative Processing Body of the Administration of Justice, called by Order PJC/150/2024.
  • Candidates whose destination scope corresponds to the Autonomous Community of Canary Islands.
  • Civil servants in active service who accessed this call through the internal promotion route (not through the open system).

It does not affect candidates from other autonomous communities or those who participated through the open access system in the same call.

Practical example

Suppose a candidate has candidate number 15. According to the regulation, they are required to include a minimum of 15 positions from those published in the resolution in their request. If they only request 10 positions and none of them are allocated to them, the administration will forcibly assign them a position in alphabetical order among the remaining ones, without being able to reject it.

If this candidate prefers, for example, positions in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria but their candidate number requires them to also include positions in Santa Cruz de Tenerife to meet the minimum, they must include them equally. Failure to do so activates forced allocation, which could assign them precisely one of the positions they wanted to avoid.

The deadline for submitting this request, either through electronic headquarters or in person in Las Palmas or Santa Cruz de Tenerife, expires 10 business days from July 9, 2026.

What should candidates do now?

  1. Check the resolution published in the BOE on July 8, 2026 to identify exactly which positions are available in Canary Islands and which best suit your preferences.
  2. Calculate your candidate number and make sure to include at least that number of positions in your request. Requesting fewer than the minimum activates forced allocation in alphabetical order.
  3. Prepare the request before the deadline expires (10 business days from July 9, 2026). You can submit it through electronic headquarters or in person in Las Palmas or Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
  4. Order your preferences with criteria: the allocated position will be definitive and will block you from transfer contests for two years. Carefully consider family reconciliation, distance, and conditions of each position before ordering your list.
  5. If you disagree with the final resolution, you have one month to file a request for reconsideration or two months for an administrative-contentious appeal, counted from publication.

Frequently asked questions

What is the deadline to request a position in the Court Proceedings Processing call in Canary Islands 2026?

The deadline is 10 business days counted from publication in the BOE, which took place on July 8, 2026 (with entry into force on July 9). After this deadline without a request, the administration can allocate a position forcibly in alphabetical order.

What happens if I don't request enough positions or don't submit the request?

If you don't request a number of positions equal to or greater than your candidate number, or if you simply don't submit a request, the administration will forcibly allocate you a position in alphabetical order among those available. You cannot reject that allocation.

Where can I submit the position request?

The request can be submitted through two channels: through the electronic headquarters of the Ministry of Presidency, Public Administrations, Justice and Security of Canary Islands, or in person at the registries located in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria or Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Can I request a transfer after the position is allocated to me?

Not during the first two years. The allocated position has a definitive nature, equivalent to one obtained by transfer contest, and the civil servant is blocked from participating in transfer contests for two years from allocation.

Can I appeal the position allocation resolution?

Yes. Two appeal routes are available: request for reconsideration within one month from publication, or administrative-contentious appeal within two months from publication. Both deadlines are counted from the publication date of the corresponding resolution.
