Practical example

A career civil servant of the AGE who has been in their current permanent position for 3 years (meets the minimum 2 years required) and does not have current firm suspension can submit their application through Portal Funciona with their electronic certificate.

They must do so within the 15 business days counted from August 4, 2026. After that deadline, they will not be able to participate in this call. In their application, they must prove the general and specific merits established by the annexes of the resolution, since the evaluation of such merits will determine their position in the contest and, therefore, whether or not they obtain one of the positions called in IGSS.

If the civil servant were in a situation of voluntary leave of absence, they could also participate, since the call admits any administrative situation except current firm suspension.

What should civil servants do now?

1. Verify compliance with requirements: Check that you are in a valid administrative situation (not current firm suspension) and that you have accumulated at least 2 years in your current permanent position, unless a limited exception applies.
2. Calculate the exact deadline: The 15 business day deadline begins on August 4, 2026. Identify the exact deadline date taking into account national and local holidays.
3. Prepare the electronic certificate: The application is exclusively electronic through Portal Funciona. If you do not have a valid electronic certificate, obtain it with sufficient advance notice.
4. Gather merit documentation: Review the annexes of the call to identify which general and specific merits will be evaluated, and document those you claim.
5. Submit the application in Portal Funciona: Complete and send the application electronically before the deadline expires. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be admitted.
6. HR managers: Inform the civil servants in your unit about the call and manage with agility any internal documentation needed to prove merits or administrative situation.
