Approved candidates in the extraordinary selective process called by Order JUS/1327/2022 for the Court Proceedings and Administrative Processing Body of the Administration of Justice now face a critical deadline. The Generalitat of Catalonia has published the vacant positions in its territorial scope and the clock is already running: 10 business days from June 29, 2026 to act electronically.

Not requesting an assignment is not a neutral option: it has direct and permanent consequences on the first assignment as a civil servant.

10 business days
Maximum deadline to request assignment electronically from 29/06/2026
2 years
Minimum time in the assigned position before being able to participate in transfer competitions

What does this regulation establish?

The Resolution of June 23, 2026 from the Department of Justice and Democratic Quality of the Generalitat of Catalonia publishes the list of vacant positions in the Catalan territorial scope corresponding to the extraordinary selective process JUS/1327/2022. These positions are now offered to candidates who have passed the process.

The assignment rules are as follows:

  • Assignment order: by total score obtained in the selective process (higher score, greater choice preference).
  • Mandatory request: electronic, within 10 business days from publication of the resolution (29/06/2026).
  • Forced assignment: if a candidate does not request a position, or requests positions but does not obtain any of the requested ones, they will be forcibly assigned to any unassigned position in alphabetical order.
  • Definitive nature: assigned positions are definitive. Participation in transfer competitions is not permitted until two years have elapsed since taking office.

Positions are distributed mainly in Barcelona city, but also in other Catalan municipalities. The specific published locations are:

Municipality
Barcelona (city) — majority of positions
Blanes
Balaguer
Amposta
Arenys de Mar
Cerdanyola del Vallès
Cervera

Economic and operational impact

For approved candidates, the assigned position determines first-order economic and labor aspects for at least the next two years:

  • Geographic location of the position: the assignment will set the actual workplace. An assignment in Barcelona city is radically different, in terms of cost of living, commuting and work-life balance, from one in Balaguer or Amposta.
  • Mobility freeze: for two years you cannot compete in transfer competitions. This means that an undesired assignment—especially if it is forced due to not requesting—becomes a long-term work obligation.
  • Risk of forced assignment: anyone who does not request or does not obtain any requested position is at the mercy of the alphabetical order of their surname. They could end up in any of the listed municipalities, without any choice.
  • Taking office: the deadlines for incorporation into the assigned position start from the assignment resolution, so personal and logistical planning must begin immediately.

Who does it affect?

  • Candidates who have passed the extraordinary selective process called by Order JUS/1327/2022 and have been included in the list of approved candidates for the Catalonia territory.
  • People who applied for the Court Proceedings and Administrative Processing Body of the Administration of Justice through the competitive examination system, open competition.
  • Candidates who do not yet have an assigned position in Catalonia and are pending this position selection phase.

This regulation does not affect civil servants already in active service with consolidated assignment, nor candidates from other autonomous communities or calls other than JUS/1327/2022.

Practical example

Suppose an approved candidate—let's call her Laura—has obtained an average score in the selective process, placing her in an intermediate position on the assignment ranking.

Laura has two options:

  1. Acts within the deadline (10 business days): electronically requests her preferred positions, for example Barcelona city as first choice and Arenys de Mar as second. If her score gives her access to any of them, she obtains that assignment. If not, she is forcibly assigned to an unassigned position in alphabetical order of her first surname.
  2. Does not act within the deadline: automatically she is forcibly assigned to any vacant unassigned position, also in alphabetical order. She could end up in Balaguer, Amposta or Cervera without having had any choice.

In both cases, the assignment is definitive for at least two years. The difference between acting and not acting could mean years of unwanted commuting or a cost of living much higher than planned.

What should approved candidates do now?

  1. Verify if you are included in the list of approved candidates for the Catalonia territory of the JUS/1327/2022 process. Check the resolution published on 29/06/2026 in the BOE.
  2. Calculate the exact deadline: the 10 business days begin on June 29, 2026. Subtract national and Catalonia holidays to know the actual deadline.
  3. Prepare the electronic request: access the platform enabled by the Ministry of Justice or the Generalitat of Catalonia for position selection. Have your digital certificate or Cl@ve ready.
  4. Order the positions by real preference: study the available municipalities (Barcelona, Blanes, Balaguer, Amposta, Arenys de Mar, Cerdanyola del Vallès, Cervera) and prioritize according to your personal, family and economic situation. Remember that the assignment will last a minimum of two years.
  5. Request the maximum number of possible positions: including more options reduces the risk of forced assignment. Do not limit the request to a single municipality if you can accept others.
  6. Plan taking office: once the assignment is made, prepare the logistics of incorporation (accommodation, commuting, deregistration from your municipality of origin if applicable).

Frequently asked questions

What is the deadline to request assignment in the Court Proceedings Processing positions in Catalonia?

The deadline is 10 business days counted from the publication of the resolution, which took place on June 29, 2026. The request must be made electronically. It is essential to subtract national and Catalonia holidays to calculate the exact deadline.

What happens if I do not request any position within the deadline?

If you do not submit a request within the 10 business day period, you will be forcibly assigned to any unassigned position, following the alphabetical order of your first surname. You will have no choice and the assigned position will be equally definitive, with the same two-year block for transfer competitions.

In which municipalities are positions available in Catalonia?

Positions are concentrated mainly in Barcelona city, but are also offered in: Blanes, Balaguer, Amposta, Arenys de Mar, Cerdanyola del Vallès and Cervera. The resolution published on 29/06/2026 contains the complete list of vacant positions in each municipality.

How long must I remain in the assigned position before I can request a transfer?

Assignments made in this process have definitive nature and do not allow participation in transfer competitions until two years have elapsed since taking office in the assigned position.

How is it decided who gets each position if there is more demand than supply?

Assignment is made by order of total score obtained in the extraordinary selective process JUS/1327/2022. Higher score means higher priority to choose among available positions. In case of a tie or failure to obtain any of the requested positions, forced assignment is applied in alphabetical order.
