UPV Professor Positions 2026: €31.10 Fee and Deadline Until September 28

What does this regulation establish?

The direct cost of participating in this call is minimal: €31.10 per position applied for. For exempt groups, the cost is zero. The real economic impact is not in the fee, but in the consequences of promotion: advancing to the Professor position means a change in salary category and academic recognition with permanent effects on the teacher's professional career.

From an operational perspective, the call imposes two conditions that may require prior work:

• Current accreditation: without it, participation is not possible. Candidates who do not yet have it cannot apply for this call.
• C1 level in a foreign language: if the position requires teaching in another language, this requirement must be accredited before application. It cannot be obtained during the process.

Who does it affect?

• University Lecturers at the UPV with civil service status and at least two years of effective service.
• Those who already have accreditation for the Professor position issued by ANECA or competent body.
• Candidates aspiring to positions with teaching in a foreign language and who must accredit C1 level.
• Groups entitled to fee exemption: special large families, victims of gender violence, persons with disability equal to or greater than 33% and persons in social exclusion.

The call does not affect contracted professors, associate professors, doctoral assistants or any teacher who does not have civil service status in the University Lecturer position.

Practical example

A University Lecturer at the UPV who obtained their civil service position in September 2023 and received Professor accreditation in 2025 meets both requirements of seniority (more than two years of effective service) and accreditation. If the position they are applying for does not require teaching in a foreign language, they do not need to accredit C1 level.

Their process would be as follows:

1. Access the UPV electronic office between September 1 and 28, 2026.
2. Select the position or positions they wish to apply for.
3. Pay the fee of €31.10 for each position applied for (or accredit their exemption status if applicable).
4. Attach the required documentation, including Professor accreditation.
5. Submit the application before September 28, 2026 at 23:59.

If this same professor belongs to a special category large family, the fee is €0 and they only need to accredit this status at the time of application.

What should candidates do now?

1. Verify accreditation: check that you have current accreditation for the Professor position. Without it, participation in this call is not possible.
2. Review years of service: confirm that you have at least two years of effective service as a civil service official in the University Lecturer position.
3. Check the language requirement: if the called position requires teaching in a foreign language, verify that you have C1 level certification before September 1, 2026.
4. Prepare documentation: gather accreditation, service certificates and, if applicable, fee exemption documentation (special large family certificate, disability resolution equal to or greater than 33%, etc.).
5. Access the UPV electronic office between September 1 and 28, 2026 to formalize the application. Applications are not accepted outside this channel or outside this deadline.
6. Pay the fee of €31.10 per position applied for, unless you accredit exemption status.
