What does this regulation establish?

This resolution modifies two previous regulations from the same selection process, originally called by Resolution 400/38533/2024, of December 10:

• Resolution 430/38139/2026, of March 10: by which permanent statutory personnel were appointed in the Nurse category in the Defense Hospital Network. It is now modified to include new applicants from the reserve list as replacements for those who withdrew.
• Resolution 430/38554/2025, of December 23: by which the list of persons approved in the selection process was published. It is modified to reflect changes in the list of approved candidates.

The reason for the adjustment is clear: 7 applicants resigned from their positions after being appointed, and 2 failed to submit the required documentation within the established deadline. This generated 9 vacancies that the Undersecretary now fills with the following candidates from the reserve list, up to a maximum of 9 positions.

The documentation that newly appointed candidates must submit within 20 business days from July 11, 2026 includes:

• Qualifying degree (Nurse qualification)
• Sworn statements required by the call
• Medical certificate certifying functional capacity
• Certification from the Central Register of Sexual Offenders

Economic and operational impact

For affected applicants, the impact is direct and immediate: obtaining a permanent statutory personnel position in the Defense Hospital Network means accessing stable public employment with the remuneration conditions of statutory personnel in the public defense health system.

From an operational perspective, there are two risks:

• Risk of losing position due to taking office deadline: if the applicant does not present themselves at the destination hospital in Madrid within 15 calendar days from publication (or within 1 month if they prove change of residence), they lose all rights derived from the selection process. There is no automatic extension.
• Risk of losing position due to incomplete documentation: failure to submit any of the required documents within 20 business days has the same effect: total loss of rights. This was precisely the reason why 2 of the 9 previous applicants lost their position.

For the Defense Hospital Network, the resolution guarantees the filling of up to 9 nursing positions in Madrid, correcting the withdrawals that occurred in the initial appointment process.

Who does it affect?

• Applicants on the reserve list of the Nurse and Midwife selection process of the Defense Hospital Network, called by Resolution 400/38533/2024.
• Applicants in positions immediately following those appointed in the March 2026 Resolution 430/38139/2026, who are now called to fill the 9 vacancies.
• HR managers of the Ministry of Defense and military hospitals in Madrid, who must manage the incorporation and document verification processes.
• Applicants who participated in the selection process through the general system of free access for the Nurse and Midwife categories in the Defense Hospital Network.

Practical example

An applicant who appears on the reserve list of the selection process and receives notification of appointment on July 11, 2026 should act as follows:

1. Taking office deadline: they have until July 26, 2026 (15 calendar days from July 11) to present themselves at the destination hospital in Madrid and take office. If they prove that the position involves a change of residence, the deadline extends to 1 month (until August 11, 2026).
2. Documentation deadline: they must submit the Nurse degree, sworn statements, medical certificate and certification from the Sexual Offenders Register within 20 business days following July 11, 2026. Counting business days (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays), the approximate deadline expires around August 8, 2026.

If this applicant fails to meet either of the two deadlines, they lose all rights derived from the selection process — exactly what happened to the 2 applicants who failed to submit documentation in the previous round.

What should applicants do now?

1. Verify if you are on the called reserve list: consult Resolution 430/38313/2026 published in the BOE on July 11, 2026 to confirm if your name appears among the newly appointed.
2. Calculate your taking office deadline: you have 15 calendar days from July 11 (until July 26, 2026) to present yourself at the destination hospital in Madrid. If the position involves change of residence, the deadline is 1 month (until August 11, 2026).
3. Gather documentation in parallel: do not wait to take office to prepare documents. Immediately begin obtaining the medical certificate and certification from the Central Register of Sexual Offenders, which may take days to issue.
4. Submit all documentation before the 20th business day: qualifying degree, sworn statements, medical certificate and certification from the Sexual Offenders Register. The 20 business day deadline from July 11 expires approximately on August 8, 2026.
5. Do not assume automatic extensions: failure to meet either of the two deadlines (taking office or documentation) results in the loss of all rights from the selection process, with no possibility of recovery. This is evidenced by the precedent of the 9 applicants who generated these vacancies.
