The Generalitat of Catalonia published on September 23, 2026 the vacant positions in its territorial scope corresponding to the call Order JUS/1327/2022, of December 28, and the deadline to act is just five business days.

This is not an optional procedure: the assignment is mandatory. Anyone who does not request a position or does not obtain any of the requested ones will receive a post assigned directly by the Counselor, without any choice.

The Resolution of September 10, 2026 from the Department of Justice and Democratic Quality of the Generalitat of Catalonia publishes the list of vacant positions in the territorial scope of Catalonia for those who passed the extraordinary selection process for the Judicial Assistance Corps of the Administration of Justice.

The ordering criterion is key: candidates are ordered by total score obtained in the selection process, with Catalan merit as a differentiating element within the scope of Catalonia. This means that those who demonstrate knowledge of Catalan will have priority in choosing a position over other candidates with similar base scores.

Economic and operational impact

For those who passed, the practical implications go beyond mere administrative procedure:

• Definitive post: the position obtained is not provisional. It implies actual transfer, potential change of residence, and adaptation of personal and family life.
• Mobility freeze for 2 years: once the post is assigned, the civil servant is bound to that position for a minimum of two years before being able to compete for another. This has direct impact on career planning.
• Risk of ex officio assignment: failing to submit an electronic application within the deadline, or requesting only highly sought-after positions without obtaining any, triggers forced assignment by the Counselor. The candidate loses all ability to choose.
• Opportunity cost: since the order of assignment depends on total score plus Catalan merit, candidates with lower scores must realistically assess which positions they have real chances of obtaining and diversify their requests.

Who does it affect?

• People appointed as civil servants of the Judicial Assistance Corps of the Administration of Justice through the Order PJC/881/2026, of July 31, 2026.
• Those who passed the extraordinary selection process called by the Order JUS/1327/2022, of December 28, who applied or can apply for positions in the territorial scope of Catalonia.
• Candidates with accreditation of Catalan merit, who have an ordering advantage in the assignment of positions in this scope.
• Candidates without Catalan merit who can also request positions in Catalonia, but with a lower ordering position compared to those who do accredit it.

Practical example

Suppose a candidate was appointed by Order PJC/881/2026 with a total score of 68.50 points and accredits Catalan merit. When the resolution is published on September 23, 2026, they have 5 business days to access the corresponding electronic office and submit their application for a position in Catalonia.

Thanks to Catalan merit, their position in the assignment order is higher than that of another candidate with the same base score who does not accredit it. This allows them to apply for more sought-after positions within the Catalan scope.

If this candidate does not submit an application within the deadline, the Counselor will assign them a position ex officio from those remaining available, without being able to choose location or judicial body. Once the position is assigned, they will not be able to participate in any transfer competitions until, at minimum, the date equivalent to two years after the assignment resolution.

What should those who passed do now?

1. Verify if you are on the eligible list: check that your appointment appears in Order PJC/881/2026, of July 31, 2026. Only those appointed in that order can participate in this assignment process in Catalonia.
2. Consult the published positions: access the official resolution published on September 23, 2026 to know exactly what vacant positions are available in the scope of Catalonia.
3. Prepare the electronic application before the 5 business days expire: submission is exclusively electronic. Make sure you have your digital certificate or electronic identification system operational before attempting to submit.
4. Diversify the positions requested: if your score is not among the highest, include in your application positions with lower demand to avoid being left without any of the requested ones and receiving an ex officio assignment.
5. Plan mobility 2 years ahead: once the post is assigned, you will not be able to compete for transfers until two years have passed since the assignment resolution. Keep this in mind for personal and family decisions.
